Although I make these cookies any time of the year, because they are delicious! I tend to think of them more once the weather starts to get a little bit cooler. They are perfect for the holiday season as they have warm spices that just remind me of winter and Christmas.

If you have never tried a Snickerdoodle I encourage you to try them! They are easy to make and are so delicious! Enjoy! ~ Lisa

ingredients

  • 250g plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 125g butter, room temperature
  • 100g plus 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

directions

  1. Pre-heat oven 180C/350F/gas mark 4
  2. Combine flour, nutmeg, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl cream the butter with 100g sugar until fluffy and pale in color. Beat in egg and vanilla. Fold into the dry mixture.
  3. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls.
  4. Roll the dough balls in the sugar and cinnamon
  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
